What do I mean by that question? Is Jesus who he says he is. He claimed he was the son of God.
Do you believe this? If you don't, let's read about him and see if you change your mind.
Let's see what some of the things are Jesus did during his ministry:
MT 8:14 When Jesus came into Peter's house, he saw Peter's mother-in-law lying in bed with a fever. 15 He touched her hand and the fever left her, and she got up and began to wait on him.
This is definitely a miracle, instant recovery. No time delay.
MT 8:16 When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to him, and he drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick.
Is this proof as to who he is? Do you believe a regular person could do this?
Lets see what the Bible says:
17 This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah: "He took up our infirmities and carried our diseases."
In other words this was prophesied. Would the fact that this was prophesied years earlier be proof as to who Jesus is?
MT 8:18 When Jesus saw the crowd around him, he gave orders to cross to the other side of the lake.
MT 8:23 Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him. 24 Without warning, a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. 25 The disciples went and woke him, saying, "Lord, save us! We're going to drown!" 26 He replied, "You of little faith, why are you so afraid?" Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm. 27 The men were amazed and asked, "What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!"
People wondered about him. Would you? Would you wonder? Someone that can control the weather, would that make you wonder?
MT 9:35 Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness.
He continued to do miracles and preached wherever he went.
It gets even better:
MT 9:36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. 37 Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. 38 Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field."
Jesus knew how big a job it was to spread his message.
MT 10:1 He called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority to drive out evil spirits and to heal every disease and sickness.
He recruited help. Who? His disciples.
MT 10:5 These twelve Jesus sent out with the following instructions: "Do not go among the Gentiles or enter any town of the Samaritans. 6 Go rather to the lost sheep of Israel. 7 As you go, preach this message: `The kingdom of heaven is near.' 8 Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons………
At that time they where only preaching to the Israelites. The Gentiles (us) where included later. The message had to get out and Jesus empowered the disciples to do that. Not only could Jesus perform miracles, he could empower others to do them also. Would this make you believe he is who he says he is?
Conclusion:
What did we say the point of this message was? The point of this message is this: Will you change your mind as to who this is? Is this Jesus, the son of God?
If you still don't believe it, would you at least investigate further and try to find out?
If we don't believe in who Jesus is, we might as well throw away the Bible and just live as we want. But if we are wrong, what are the consequences?
