It is easy for me to come and tell you that you need to be saved.
It is easy to give you the how to be saved speech. That is very important, don't get me wrong.
Lets start with that. How do you get saved?
RO 10: 9 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. 11 As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame."
Pretty basic. If you read the above and think about it, you will know how to be saved. Okay, now I am done. Right?
No, it does not end there.
We need Gods help to move forward, being saved is just the start. So how do you do that It comes with the help of the Holy Spirit. Who?
Lets see:
JN 15:26 "When the Counselor comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father, he will testify about me.
Jesus said this: I will send the Holy Spirit. He will confirm who I am. That is what he means by the counselor, he is the Sprit of truth.
He also said:
JN 14:15 "If you love me, you will obey what I command. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever-- 17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.
This tells us to know the Holy Spirit you have to be saved. Non-believers doesn't see him or accept him.
It says the Holy Spirit will be in you if you are saved.
Jesus also promised this:
18 I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. 19 Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. 20 On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. 21 Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him."
Jesus basically says you will know that he is real. That's one of the reasons he sends the Holy Spirit to help us.
RO 5:1 Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. 3 Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.
Again he says he has given us the Holy Spirit. It says Gods love came to us thru the Holy Spirit.
My point:
A lot of people don't think about the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is our helper.
Study on this some more and realize how much help we get from the Holy Spirit. Then draw on this help to walk your walk.
Paul saying good bye to the Corinthians said this:
2CO 13:14 May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
That is what I ask for you. Don't go it alone. Ask for the help of the Holy Spirit.
